We had the good fortune to run into Jane McGonigal at the 2011 Game Developer's Convention in San Francisco. She seems to have turned over the apple cart as it were, and her strong advocacy has coined a new term: "Gamification." Here's one of those TED seminal moments as Jane talks about the impact game technology could have to change our society.

his project is currently in the hands of over 1 million Canadian students! Project Whitecard deployed a custom Mac and PC solution and Julie Payette provided the voice for this project.
Using augmented reality technology developed at Project Whitecard and working with BiPlan in-situ, we were able to have a look at 400 years in the past in Cherbourg, Normandy, France.
Like a window, citizens can now go downtown, hold up an Android device, run Chevron, and turn around with the tablet, looking at the old Cherbourg Castle.
